Have you experienced freshwater fishing through the ice or open water? Have you ever wondered what it would be like fishing out on the ice or open water? The primary goal that BackWoods Sportsman OutDoors Guide Service is to show and teach anglers on how to catch fish in the different seasons that New England has to offer. Our main objective is to catch fish but also to educate anglers in the different techniques and tactics that we use to make everyday on the ice or open water a productive one.

Currently we are fishing the lakes and ponds of the North Shore of Massachusetts for a variety of fish species entailing Crappies, Sunfish, Perch as well as Large and Smallmouth Bass. In the near future we will be expanding to the waters of New Hampshire as well to offer other ice and open water fishing alternatives.

Ice Fishing Guide Service info:

We always encourage anglers to bring along their own equipment as everyone is more comfortable in using that equipment. But, if you are new to this sport or do not have the equipment to enjoy a day on the ice fishing, that equipment will be on hand and ready for your use. Ice holes will be drilled with the power of StrikeMaster Augers and there will be many holes drilled in our search for locating the fish to be caught.

Anglers are encouraged to bring along their own snacks and drinks, non alcoholic, to allow them to enjoy a very productive day out on the ice. Also, we encourage anglers to dress appropriately for the weather as we fish out on the open ice as movement in locating fish is very critical. Be prepared to be on the move at all times as we are not one to sit and wait for the fish to come to us, we go to where the fish are.

All anglers like to keep a meal of fish for their dinner table and we have nothing against that but here at BackWoods Sportsman OutDoors Guide Service, we encourage catch and release of the fish that we catch. Plenty of pictures will be taken of the day on the ice and those are memories that will never be lost.

Primarily we fish with artificial baits when fishing the ice season and when targeting panfish we will use hair jigs as well as micro plastics that catch these fish. For the larger gamefish we generally use hard sided jigging baits and these have been very productive for us the last few seasons. The world of electronic fishing will be explained and shown to you through the use of flashers to allow you to see the opportunities that using electronics on the ice will make for more of a productive day.

Whether you are a beginning angler, an angler that has fished out on the ice a few times, or just looking for other possibilities of catching fish and enjoying the day on the ice, BackWoods Sportsman OutDoors Guide Service has some great opportunities at catching New England fish.



Rates:

$130.00 for 6 hours for one angler

BackWoods Sportsman OutDoors Guide Service offers day trips that entail 6 hours out on the ice. Generally our experience is that we like to do one on one fishing on our trips as our approach to ice fishing is the personal touch aspect of fishing as a much more of a learning experience that you won't get in a big group atmosphere. Plan on doing some walking as all waters are only accessable by foot. Holes are to be drilled for you and your guide will be searching for fish to keep you in the most productive waters possible.



Deposit:

A 50% deposit will be required at time of booking through the use of PayPal or other arrangements made. A 7 day cancellation is required. Should you cancel with the 7 day notice, you will be refunded 100% of your deposit.
